With such massive storage, the retrieval of data would also have to a highly organized one. With millions of web pages and data available on the internet, we need a very efficient tool to retrieve the one that we require and that too in just few seconds. That tool is called the search engines.
The search engines index the webpages and retrieve the pages based on the index. They have indexing done on almost all the pages that is uploaded on the internet. They also organize the way the downloadable files are retrieved from the remote server. For example, for downloading the pdf file, it would refer the pdf library. Every file is categorized and stored as per the extension of the file or type of the file. Can we ever imagine, if not for these search engines, our plight of searching the information on the internet?
