Kids’ DVDs harm the toddlers’ speech

The parents believe that some educational DVDs are helpful. But those DVDs are indirectly affecting the little children. The early exposure of the DVDs can harm the child’s speech. The study was done by the University of California over the toddlers DVDs. The programs in the DVDs which is for toddlers under two is harmful.

The DVDs cannot make the children learn new words and no effect of learning is seen in the children. The research was conducted among 96 children and vocabulary was tested. The age group of the children was in-between 12 to 24 months and educational DVDs were given and asked them to watch.

The language development is less in those children who use these DVDs. The lead researcher Rebekah Richert commented on the topic to the daily express. The language of these children is also impaired the research showed. The infants who watched the DVD’s scored less in the vocabulary.
